WAVE Proximal Posterior Tibia Locking Plate

  1. Straightforward implantation
The wave shape of the plate ergonomically matches the tibia. No pre-bending is required, which saves time and facilitates the surgery.
    .
  2. Excellent stability
Sufficient posterior buttress of the complete posterior tibial plateau from medial to lateral.

    .

  3. Improved surgical outcome
Buttress plate for optimal proximal posterior tibia plateau reduction and fixation according to the reversed L-shaped approach.

How would you treat a tibia fracture?
For many surgeons, the operative management of posterior tibial plateau fractures (PTPF) remains a challenge. Even with optimal treatment, in many patients a decrease in functional performance is noted.

Improved results thanks to wider support
Through conversation with leading industry experts, we recognized a growing awareness to address the posterior tibial plateau fractures, and it has been shown that with sophisticated buttressing of both the posteromedial and posterolateral tibia plateau the failure rate can drastically be reduced.

A different approach to tibia fractures
We want to support our respected surgeons with tools and knowledge needed to start treating complex tibia fractures with confidence. Thanks to the feedback from pioneering surgeons like Harm Hoekstra, we were able to develop a plate that provides optimal support of both, posteromedial and posterolateral column of complex tibia plateau fractures. But it’s not only about the plate. Combined with the reversed L-shaped approach, the true capability of the WAVE Plate is shown.

The reversed L-Shape Approach
The reversed L-Shape approach, which traditionally was performed by Dr. Luo Cong-Feng and adopted by Dr. Hoekstra, is one of the most straightforward surgical approaches. The soft-tissue injury is limited, and extensive manipulation of the popliteal neurovascular bundle is avoided. Sufficient exposure of the entire posterior wall medial of the fibular head is achieved and in fact, medial column fractures can also be addressed via the posterior reversed L-shape approach by elevating the pes anserinus.
